We had an amazing time photographing Katie, her daughter Montana and Derek. The three of them traveled to Scottsdale from Canada for their destination wedding at The Boulders resort, and Kelly and I were fortunate enough to be a part of the experience with them. Like Kelly and I, Katie & Derek were high school sweethearts, only it took life and kids and experiences and different paths to bring them to this moment. It was an incredibly moving ceremony at the top of a mountain where Derek proclaimed his true love for Katie and made an amazing promise to Montana. Between some tears we able to get a few good photos. This also marks the fifth marriage license signing for Kelly 🙂 After the ceremony we braved some cholla’s, a couple broken champagne glasses, some on-coming traffic and 1 giant tarantula to get some fun “superstar” night shots before they went out on the town.
